JUNE 2022 EDITION
A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
So long farewell … Jonathan James and Steve Finitsis

Queensland Squash Inc farewells our dear friends and outgoing directors Jonathan James and Steve Finitsis who retired from the board at our recent 2022 AGM .

Jonathan James led us as president for over 5 years from May 2017 to its current position of credibility, recognition and strength. He aligned club, regional, state and national priorities, rebuilt government relationships, set strategic goals to get outcome, modernised policies, leveraged critical data, and achieved financial reform. Jonathan’s calm and discerning wisdom and encyclopaedic mind will be sorely missed from the board table, but we are sure to seek out his sage advice and wise counsel as a valuable consultant from time to time.

Steven Finitsis brought to the boardroom his naturally yet understated finesse and brilliance as a former international professional player, national representative, and respected coach. For years he chaired our Juniors, Coaching & Development committee, which oversaw junior coaching & development, tournament management, high performance pathways, and coach development. Steven also contributed as a professional coach and selector at club, regional and state levels.  We look forward to his continuing involvement as we role out our junior and schools programs.

Please join in our heartfelt thanks for both Jonathan and Steve, and wish them all the very best as they reset their life’s priorities beyond Squash Queensland.
