Squash Queensland would like to announce that CEO Shantel Netzler has resigned from the organisation effective August 2025.
Since being appointed to her role in 2021, Ms Netzler has overseen a period of incredible growth for the organisation in all facets of the sport.
She has unlocked a significant increase in local and state government investment to safeguard the future of Squash Queensland and has rebuilt the organisation’s standing within government and the wider sporting community.
Ms Netzler’s tireless advocacy for Squash Queensland and her focus on good and effective governance has seen an incredible 95% growth in affiliated clubs, as well as an increase in individual affiliations and strengthened the organisations financial position.
She has overseen the continued importance of junior squash and ensured the Queensland Junior Championships remains the largest of its kind in Australia.
Ms Netzler has also liaised with representatives from the Ocieania National Olympic Committee, Queensland Olympic Committee and the Brisbane 32 organising committee to advocate for squash’s continued presence in the Olympics following LA28.
Squash Queensland wishes Ms Netzler well in her future endeavours and thanks her unreservedly for her commitment to the sport over the past 3 and a half years.
